As the thread finds the needle, may the mending of your heart begin. As the potter makes the vessel, may your heart be fashioned to hold water. As the smith purifies the silver, may thy dross be taken from thy heart. May then you walk through your own heart to see love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22 KJV). For the seed has been planted, may the fruit come from the mouth. For a war to be won, there must be a battle. Let the battle begin for it is the Lord's battle. For the heart to be risen, it must first fall. For this I know, may a man hide from the eye of God, nay (Psalm 139:1-18 KJV). O'Lord, thou has searched me and know me, and knowing me, thou knowest my downsitting and my uprising, thou understands my thought afar off. Thou compasses my path, my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O'Lord, thou knowest it altogether thou has beset me behind and before, and laid thy hand upon me such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there. If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of morning and dwell in the most uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall thy hand lead me and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee, but night shineth as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou has possessed my reins; thou has covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are thy works and my soul knowest right well. My substance was not to hide from thee when I was made in secret and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect, and in thy book, all my members were written, which in continuance fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious, also, are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them they are more in number than the sand; when I awake I am still with thee. Amen ~ Matthew A.
